Dubai, Nov 20 (UNI) India is set to receive the first consignment of the S-400 missile systems in September 2021, the Rosoboronexpert head said on Wednesday.
“Russia will deliver the first batch of it’s S-400 missile systems to India in September 2021, Rosoboronexport Director General Alexander Mikheev told Sputnik at the Dubai Airshow
‘We had received the first payment from the Indian government under the contract for delivering S-400 systems.
“This is a very positive moment for activating the planned work on producing the first elements of the system,” Mr Mikheev said.
India had signed the USD 5.43-billion deal with Russia for the purchase of five S-400 systems during the 19th India-Russia Annual Bilateral Summit in New Delhi on October 5, 2018.
The final deliveries are expected to be completed by April, 2023, he added.
