According to the country’s aviation regulator, almost 1.05 crore domestic passengers flew in November, up 17.03% from the 89.85 lakh who flew in October.
According to data given by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, IndiGo carried 57.06 lakh passengers in November, accounting for 54.3% of the domestic market, while SpiceJet flew 10.78 lakh passengers, accounting for 10.3% of the market (DGCA).
The November data shows, Air India, Go First (formerly known as GoAir), Vistara, AirAsia India, and Alliance Air carried 9.98 lakh, 11.56 lakh, 7.93 lakh, 6.23 lakh, and 1.20 lakh, passengers.
SpiceJet had an occupancy rate of 86.7% in November, according to the DGCA. IndiGo, Vistara, Go First, Air India, and AirAsia India had occupancy rates of 80.5%, 77%, 78.2%, 82%, and 74.6%, respectively, in November.
Travel restrictions enforced in India and other nations as a result of the pandemic have had a substantial impact on the aviation industry.
After a two-month gap due to coronavirus, India restarted domestic passenger flights on May 25, 2020.
According to DGCA data, Vistara had the best on-time performance of 84.4% in November 2021 at four metro airports: Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.
DGCA stated AirAsia India and IndiGo were in second and third place at these four airports in November, with 82.4% and 80.5% on-time performance, respectively.
To get through the coronavirus-induced crisis, all Indian airlines have taken cost-cutting measures such as pay cuts, unpaid leave, and layoffs over the last two years.
