Conventional extended-range ammunition gives ATAGS a considerably shorter reach, meaning the ramjet round could provide Indian artillery with a much deeper engagement envelope without requiring an entirely new gun platform.
At the centre of the architecture is SkyOS, Indrajaal’s AI-driven autonomy and air-command platform. SkyOS combines information from acoustic sensors, radio-frequency systems, electro-optical cameras and thermal sensors to create a common picture of low-altitude airspace. The platform can classify an incoming drone, predict its trajectory and select an appropriate response within seconds.
Under the Tembo-New Lachaussée project, the Belgian company will provide a complete ammunition production line for two calibres, while also supplying tooling that will allow production of two additional calibres. The project is valued at approximately €50 million, with equipment deliveries and installation planned across 2028 and 2029.
The disclosure is important because it points to cooperation considerably broader than the manufacture of isolated components. BDL is India’s principal production agency for numerous guided missile and allied weapon programmes and has been progressively transforming itself from a missile manufacturer into a complete weapon-system integrator.
The clearest evidence of the new configuration comes from DRDO’s Research Centre Imarat in Hyderabad, which has sought the fabrication of five sets of 370-mm ELRGR rocket-motor systems. The requirement covers specialised manufacturing processes including flow forming, precision machining, welding of 11-10 precipitation-hardening steel and proof-pressure testing. The motor sets are to be supplied to RCI within a six-month delivery window.
The latest milestone follows several years of cooperation between BDL and Rafael. At Aero India 2025, the companies advanced plans for a Technical Collaboration Agreement covering Indian manufacture of the Spike LR2. Rafael said at the time that the arrangement was intended to transfer manufacturing capabilities and critical technologies to BDL while meeting India’s indigenous-content requirements under the Make in India initiative.
The industrial roots of Raghu Vamsi go back further than its aerospace business. The group says its foundations were established in 1992 in power transmission, followed by cast-iron casting and machining activity from 1998. Aerospace manufacturing became an increasingly important part of the business in the following decade.
The agreement was announced by Chennai-based Ramco Systems on 3 September 2026. Under the collaboration, engine information generated by Safran following shop visits will be transferred directly into the Maintenance Information System within Ramco Aviation Software.
The Indian Army describes the platform as agnostic to generator type, make, rating and vintage. This allows older machines and newer generator sets from different manufacturers to be brought under the same monitoring framework.
The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Pune on September 4, 2026, bringing together Drogo Aerospace’s unmanned-aircraft engineering capabilities and MIL’s experience in ammunition, explosives and warhead technology. The agreement was signed by Yashwanth Bonthu, Founder and CEO of Drogo Aerospace, and Kumar Vaibhav Gaur, Executive Director of Munitions India.
