SHIELD is intended primarily as an evaluation and technology-development platform, rather than an immediately deployable battlefield weapon. Its purpose is to generate controlled high-power microwave emissions and study how electronic systems respond when exposed to intense electromagnetic energy.
Adani Defence announced the agreement on September 5, 2026.
