BDL is in the process of developing a defence missile shield for India. Some preliminary work on it has already begun. “It will completely be developed indigenously,” Siddharth Mishra, chairman and managing director, Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) Commodore said on Tuesday.
Mishra said an MoU has been signed with IIIT Hyderabad and BDL will work on five new projects together in the next four years for developing artificial intelligence. “This will be put to use for process line development, improving production, bringing about innovation in products and product development,” he said. The ‘Centre of Excellence’ was established by IIT-Hyderabad and BDL with the intention of making use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in developing missile technology.
