The Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade also confirmed that Havlíček inaugurated a new manufacturing hall at Gopalan Aerospace during his visit to Bengaluru. The ministry highlighted the event as part of the Czech Republic’s efforts to expand industrial and technological cooperation with India.

Gopalan Aerospace Signs Five MoUs with Czech Companies

A major outcome of the visit was the signing of five MoUs between Gopalan Aerospace and Czech companies, covering several areas of aerospace and industrial technology.

According to Gopalan Aerospace, the agreements will explore cooperation in drone technologies, advanced coatings and aerospace-related systems. The company’s leadership also identified unmanned traffic management and fire safety technologies among the areas covered by the partnerships.

The agreements include opportunities involving fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles, quadcopters, jet-powered UAV technologies, thermoreflective coatings and systems supporting unmanned aircraft operations.

The Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade separately confirmed the signing of a cooperation memorandum involving Czech company Witkowitz during the visit.

These partnerships provide opportunities for Indian and Czech companies to combine their respective engineering capabilities, expand technological cooperation and pursue new industrial applications.

New Aerospace Production Line Inaugurated at Hoskote

During his visit, Karel Havlíček inaugurated a new production line at Gopalan Aerospace’s Hoskote manufacturing facility, marking another step in the company’s industrial expansion.

According to Gopalan Aerospace, the facility represents an investment of approximately USD 40 million and forms part of its efforts to strengthen India’s aerospace and defence manufacturing capabilities.

Spread across approximately 10.5 acres, the manufacturing complex incorporates more than 150,000 square feet of industrial infrastructure.

The facility supports precision CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, advanced composites, aerostructures, heavy engineering, radar and antenna assemblies, and complex aerospace component manufacturing.

Gopalan Aerospace has highlighted its AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certifications, along with Nadcap accreditation for specialised manufacturing processes, as important elements of its quality and production capabilities.

The expanded infrastructure is intended to support growing domestic and international demand for aerospace components, assemblies and advanced unmanned systems.

Company Targets USD 50 Million in Annual Revenue

Gopalan Aerospace has outlined plans to expand its manufacturing operations and strengthen its presence in domestic and international aerospace markets.

According to the company’s official announcement, the Hoskote facility is targeting approximately USD 50 million in annual revenue at planned production capacity.

The company’s leadership has also highlighted plans to increase drone manufacturing output as part of its broader industrial expansion.

The new production line and international partnerships are expected to support Gopalan Aerospace’s efforts to develop additional manufacturing capabilities and expand its participation in advanced aerospace programmes.

The company’s investment in infrastructure, engineering expertise and international collaboration reflects its long-term focus on becoming a globally competitive aerospace manufacturing enterprise.

India-Czech Republic Cooperation Expands in Aerospace and Defence

The visit to Gopalan Aerospace formed part of Karel Havlíček’s official business mission to India from October 12 to 15, 2026.

Organised to strengthen trade, investment and industrial cooperation, the mission included engagements in New Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai.

During his visit to New Delhi, Havlíček held discussions with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. According to the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, the discussions addressed opportunities for expanding bilateral trade, defence industrial cooperation and technological partnerships.

In Bengaluru, the Czech delegation engaged with Indian companies and government representatives to explore cooperation in technologically advanced industrial sectors.

The visit to Gopalan Aerospace provided an opportunity to examine India’s growing aerospace manufacturing capabilities and identify areas where Czech engineering expertise could complement Indian industrial strengths.

The Czech Ministry also highlighted that Czech companies already supply certain components to Gopalan Aerospace, including components used in drone-related applications.

International Partnerships Support Make in India

Gopalan Aerospace’s new cooperation agreements reflect the increasing role of Indian private-sector enterprises in developing advanced aerospace and defence manufacturing capabilities.

India’s Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives have encouraged domestic companies to expand production infrastructure, develop specialised engineering capabilities and establish stronger relationships with international technology partners.

Cooperation with Czech enterprises offers opportunities to combine India’s expanding manufacturing ecosystem with established European expertise in aerospace engineering, industrial technology and specialised components.

The agreements involving UAV systems and related technologies are particularly relevant as unmanned aerial platforms find growing applications across defence, surveillance, infrastructure monitoring and industrial operations.

By strengthening domestic manufacturing while building international partnerships, companies such as Gopalan Aerospace are contributing to India’s expanding role in global aerospace supply chains.

Gopalan Aerospace Strengthens India’s Global Aerospace Manufacturing Presence

The inauguration of the new Hoskote production line and the signing of five MoUs with Czech companies represent significant developments in Gopalan Aerospace’s expansion strategy.

The USD 40 million manufacturing investment, combined with cooperation in unmanned systems, advanced materials and industrial technologies, provides a foundation for further growth in India’s aerospace manufacturing sector.
