Uttarakhand to Get India’s First ‘Spritual Eco Zone’

The proposed zone will be developed in 10km radius of revered town which is already famous for the temple group. The zone will be preserved to create species for yoga, panchakarma and ayurvedic practices along with shaping the area in gardens and orchards without altering its natural vegetation.

Mahabharata Much Older, say ASI Archaeologists

These findings were discussed on Friday by the director of the ASI’s Institute of Archaeology, Sanjay Manjul, who had carried out the Sanauli excavation. Manjul said the war chariot found at the site was the first discovery of its kind and that after advanced testing it was found to be “a horse-pulled” one, which brings the site “closer to the culture of Mahabharata”.

Four Bhonsle Era Cannons Found at Kasturchand Park

A team of Archaeological Survey of India and civic administration inspecting the four cannons of Bhonsale era found at Kasturchand Park on Thursday. Mokha said that according to primary estimates, the cannons date back to 1813 and Bhosles ruled Nagpur till 1853 before Biritishers took over.

K.K. Muhammed, former director, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), said petroglyphs had been found on menhirs or cists for the first time in Kerala. However, there were such inscriptions on huge rocks at the nearby areas of Ramakkalmedu and Thookkupalam. Thirty-seven menhirs, some of them fallen, were found in four sites on the hill. Petroglyphs were also found on a huge rock.
