Located in the Bommasandra Industrial Area, the new facility has an initial footprint of about 20,000 square feet and is equipped with Surface Mount Technology, Through-Hole Technology and box-build assembly lines. It has been designed to manufacture electronics for sectors where product reliability, process control and stringent quality standards are particularly important.
The expanded facility is expected to become fully operational in 2030. Once completed, it will manufacture enzymes used across a wide range of industries, including biofuels, household-care products and food and beverages. Novonesis says the investment will substantially increase its production capacity as global demand for biological solutions continues to grow.
Rather than treating these markets as simple extensions of its existing consumer-electronics operations, the company is developing a broader capability roadmap covering capital allocation, specialised talent and strategic partnerships. The objective is to move further into technologically demanding products while building what Dixon describes as a globally competitive manufacturing platform.
