“Four years ago, we launched the “Digital India”, the world’s largest, digital technology driven transformation programme. The central notion is that Digital infrastructure should be available as a utility to all citizens…We are excited about the opportunities, but also concerned about the threats from the cyberspace,” Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said in his intervention at Paris Peace Forum on Tuesday.

The meeting between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping will take place about a month after the informal Summit between the two leaders at Mamallapuram near Chennai. During the bilateral meeting between PM Modi and President Putin, the bilateral relations, including cooperation in the military technical field, energy and space are expected to be discussed, Russian deputy chief of mission (DCM) Roman Babushkin told reporters in New Delhi.

The SCO is a China-led eight-member economic and security bloc in which India and Pakistan were admitted as full members in 2017. Its founding members included China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Saudi Arabia is the fourth-largest trading partner of India. Bilateral trade stood at $34 billion, which includes $10 billion for non-oil trade. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Brazil on Wednesday on a two-day visit to participate in the 11th Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa (BRICS) summit. This will be Modi’s sixth BRICS summit since he assumed office for the first time in May 2014. Brazil is the current chair of the grouping which taken together represents over 3.6 billion people, or half of the world population with a combined nominal GDP of $16.6 trillion.

Ten diplomats from Afghanistan are participating in the course. As with the training of the first batch of Afghan diplomats last year, the current batch will spend time at the elite Foreign Service Institute (FSI) in New Delhi during November 11-23 and undertake study tours in India before travelling to China for further training.

The two ministers discussed ways to further enhance the bilateral cooperation.

Jaishankar also met Dutch political leaders on Monday and discussed with them the future of multilateralism, India-EU ties and regional issues.

Behind the move to provide scholarships to students from Syria is a hope that it would in the near future replicate the success stories from the African continent — where several current or former Presidents, Prime Ministers and Vice Presidents have attended educational or training institutions in India.

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given ex-post facto approval to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Paraguay for Strengthening Cooperation in the field of Tourism. The MoU was signed in New Delhi on 27th September 2019.
