Senior Myanmar General Visits Eastern Naval Command

The Senior General interacted with Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ENC, Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain and held discussions on issues of mutual interest. India-Myanmar relations are rooted in shared historical, ethnic, cultural and religious ties with both nations sharing a long land boundary as well as a maritime boundary in the Bay of Bengal.

Russia Seeks to Balance China in Far East; Woos Indian Investments

Russians are increasingly apprehensive of encroachment from contiguous China into Far East Russia which is resource rich but sparsely populated, claimed persons familiar with the dynamics of Sino-Russian ties. Trade Point Planned at India-China LAC

Dumchelle is in Southern Ladakh, and is strategically located between Chushul , one of the five designated Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) meeting points between the Indian and Chinese armies, and Demchok in Southern Ladakh. The two other recognised trading points with China are Lipulekh in Uttrakhand and Nathu La in Sikkim. Predetermined, locally made items are traded through these points with an aim of boosting the local economy.
