The two sides reviewed entire gamut of ties at the 6th India-Indonesia Joint Commission Meeting (JCM).

Promising to deliver a “truly special UK-India relationship”, Johnson said during the campaign: “When I was with Prime Minister Modi I stressed that the UK and India are two modern democracies who should work closely together to promote trade and prosperity, improve global security and tackle the challenges our countries face.”

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval for signing the Agreement on Social Security between the Republic of India and the Federative Republic of Brazil.

The discussion in this regard was held during the 8th meeting of India-Germany Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism here on Wednesday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a release.

The theme for the Indian Ocean Dialogue is “Indo-Pacific: Re-imagining the Indian Ocean through an Expanded Geography”, while the theme for the Delhi Dialogue is “Advancing Partnership in Indo-Pacific”.

India is eyeing an additional $1.5 billion worth of shipments in various sectors including defence, textiles and bicycles. New Delhi has also been promoting ethnic products like Khadi and Alphonso mangoes.

Shahid, who is on a five-day visit to the country, will call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and participate in the India-Maldives 6th Joint Commission Meeting in New Delhi on December 13, the MEA said.

When asked about the UN’s response to the passage of the bill, Farhan Haq, the deputy spokesperson for United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said, “As far as I am aware, this legislation will go through a legislative process. We do not have a comment while the domestic legislative process is being carried out.”

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Intelligence Israel Katz met India’s external affairs minister S Jaishankar on the sidelines of the Meditteranean dialogue last week and shared the “Tracks for Regional Peace” initiative. In November, Israel had shared its connectivity project with Oman.

The relationship between the two countries was elevated to a Strategic Partnership in 2009, and had also adopted a Joint Declaration on Security Cooperation.
