The discussions were held during the latest round of India–Tanzania Foreign Office Consultations in Dar es Salaam on July 22, 2026. The meeting was co-chaired by Janesh Kain, Joint Secretary for East and Southern Africa in India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and Felister Rugambwa, Director of the Asia and Australasia Department in Tanzania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation.
