With a current strength of 22 trained personnel assembling Falcon 2000 cockpit and front fuel tank sections, the facility will finally scale up to a workforce of 650 working on the full jet. By that time, the company hopes to be able to churn out 2 jets per month.

DRAL, Dassault’s joint venture (JV) with Anil Ambani’s Reliance Group, has taken maiden steps in that three-year journey, the executives said referring to the first locally built cockpit section and fuel tanks set to be dispatched to France for final assembly of Falcon jets at Dassault’s Argenteuil facility.

Currently, most jawans retire after 15 to 17 years of service or by the time they are 35 to 37. The decision, still to be cleared by the defence ministry and the government, will ensure that jawans have an additional 5 years of service before retirement.

“We have talked to the Indians about missile defence as potentially an area as well to collaborate on. It’s early days to determine how far that will go,” Rood said speaking at a think-tank here on Thursday.

Out of 54,953, CRPF has the maximum 21,566 vacancies, followed by BSF (16,984), SSB (8,546), ITBP (4,126) and Assam Rifles (3,076); the remaining being in CISF and other CAPFs. Of the total vacancies, 7,646 vacancies are for Women and remaining 47,307 for Men.
