Air Marshal HS Arora has been appointed as the Vice Chief of Indian Air Force (IAF).
He will succeed Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria who will take over as the Chief of Air Staff on September 30. Arora currently heads the Gandhinagar headquartered South Western Air Command of the Air Force. Meanwhile, Air Marshal B Suresh has been appointed as Western Air Commander of the Air Force, in New Delhi. Suresh will succeed Kargil war hero Air Marshal Raghunath Nambiar on October 31. He is the incumbent AOC-in-C of Southern Air Command.

The proposed defence estate office would be harbinger of good fortune for land owners along the border areas of the state, official sources informed here on Wednesday.Union Minister of State Kiren Rijiju, who represent Arunachal West parliamentary seat, had persuaded with the defence ministry to get compensation sanctioned. The senior-most chief from amongst all the three services of the defence forces is selected as the Chairman of CoSC. Rawat, who was commissioned into the Indian Army in December 1978, is at present the senior-most chief from all the three services.

The single-engine Cheetah Helicopter of the Indian Army was on duty en-route from Khirmu(Arunanchal) to Yongfulla(Bhutan) on duty where it crashed. According to Indian Army sources, the Indian Army pilot who died in the crash was of Lieutenant-Colonel rank while the Bhutanese Army pilot was training with the Indian Army.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to issue a formal tender to procure six multi-role tanker transport (MRTT) aircraft after it had terminated a $2 billion contract with Airbus Defence and Space in 2017. India issued a request for information to the European corporation Airbus, US-based Boeing and Russia’s Ilyushin Aviation Complex last year.

Lt Gen Kler said the systems and radars of the Indian armed forces are in place.
“And any military use of any drone, which comes to our side will be shot down by the capabilities of the Indian Air Force and the Army,” he said. Interacting with reporters on the sidelines of a first-of-a-kind seminar on artificial intelligence, at Hisar Military Station, South Western Command chief Lt Gen Alok Singh Kler also said there was “nothing to worry” at the moment.

The mammoth dock will facilitate the much needed underwater repairs quickly and efficiently. Touted as the ‘edifice of modern India’ by the Indian Navy, the gigantic dry dock has been constructed over 40 lakh man days. According to a video released by the Navy, the megastructure has been constructed using 80,000 metric tons of steel — equivalent to that used to build the Eiffel tower.

India has “forward deployed” some warships, submarines, maritime patrol aircraft and fighter jets to keep track of a major naval exercise by Pakistan in the north Arabian Sea Top defence establishment sources on Wednesday said “close tabs” are being kept on the unfolding Pakistani exercise, with the Indian armed forces also being kept operationally ready “to prevent any misadventure” by the neighbouring country during it.

During the nine-day exercise, the three navies will conduct complex maritime operations in the surface, sub-surface and air domains with a particular focus on anti-submarine warfare, officials said. A significant number of aircraft, naval ships and submarines of the three navies will be part of the annual exercise, considered a major war game in the region.
