Yoga in Helping Recovery of COVID-19 Patients

The Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN), has undertaken a research project to verify the efficacy of Yoga in facilitating early recovery of COVID – 19 patients in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital, Delhi, AIIMS Delhi, AIIMS Rishikesh and RML Hospital, Delhi.

Voltas Completes the Namami Gange Sewage Treatment Plants Project in Bihar

Voltas has completed two sewage treatment plants (STP) in Bihar by Namami Gange (NMCG), funded by the World Bank. The two projects ensure proper treatment of household sewerage to prevent flowing of untreated sewage to river Ganga. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to virtually inaugurate both these Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO) STP projects in Karmalichak and Beur on September 15.

National Fisheries Policy (2020)

Government has decided for introducing a comprehensive and integrated ‘National Fisheries Policy, 2020’ by integrating the National Policy on Marine Fisheries, 2017 (NPMF), the Draft National Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy (NIFAP) and the Draft National Mariculture Policy (NMP) along with the elements of Post Harvest.

Cabinet Approves Establishment of New AIIMS at Darbhanga, Bihar

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has approved establishment of a new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Darbhanga, Bihar. This will be established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). The Cabinet also approved creation of one post of Director in the basic pay of Rs 2,25,000/- (fixed) plus NPA (however pay + NPA would not exceed Rs 2,37,500/-) for the above AIIMS.

Russia, India to Launch New Brahmos Missile Capable of Downing Aircraft With AWACS System by 2024

Russia and India have adopted a plan for their joint BrahMos project, meant to create a new cruise missile capable of downing aircraft equipped with AWACS systems (an advanced Airborne early warning and control). According to the Russian director of the venture, Alexander Maksichev, the missile will be ready for launch by 2024. He noted that it will have different target-seeking equipment but will use the same platform.
