Parliament Passes the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020

The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020 with provisions to remove commodities like cereals, pulses, oilseeds, edible oils, onion and potatoes from the list of essential commodities was passed by Rajya Sabha today. Earlier, the bill was introduced by the Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Shri Danve Raosaheb Dadarao in the Lok Sabha on 14th September, 2020 to replace ordinances promulgated on 5th June 2020. The bill was passed by Lok Sabha on 15th September, 2020.

Indian Army Warns Against Fake Organisations, Individuals Collecting Funds

The Indian Army issued a statement on social media on Thursday, warning people against fake organisations and individuals collecting funds on the pretext of aiding ex-servicemen, war widows and soldiers injured in military confrontations. The armed forces informed the netizens that funds towards the welfare of battle casualties and their dependents are collected only through two official accounts.

21 AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres to be Inaugurated in Jammu and Kashmir Tomorrow

Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister for AYUSH and Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State PMO will jointly launch the Post-Harvest Management Centre for Medicinal Plants at Bhaderwah as well as 21 AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres in Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow. The inauguration will be done through a digital event. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary Ministry of AYUSH will also participate in the program.
