India on Tuesday unveiled new development initiatives for Afghanistan, including a dam to supply water to Kabul and 150 community projects worth $80 million, even as it called for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in the war-torn country.

The indigenous Intermediate Jet Trainer (IJT) designed and developed by defence PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) commenced spin flight testing in Bengaluru. The flight was piloted by HAL’s test pilots Gp Capt (retd) HV Thakur and Wg Cdr (retd) P Avasti.
