Indian Army to Vacate Kargil Land to Build Township

The army had been using the land locally known as Khurbathang plateau for field and firing range, logistics, and operational purposes. The civilian administration has assured the army of alternative land.
As per the MoU, army would start vacating the land in March, and hand over its control to the civil administration in six months.

Government Approves Central Sector Scheme for Industrial Development of Jammu & Kashmir

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi in its meeting yesterday considered and approved the proposal of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade for Central Sector Scheme for Industrial Development of Jammu & Kashmir. The scheme is approved with a total outlay of Rs. 28,400 crore (US$ 3.88 billion) upto the year 2037.

India’s seventh Trade Policy Review (TPR) began on Wednesday, 6th January 2021, at the World Trade Organization in Geneva. The TPR is an important mechanism under the WTO’s monitoring function and involves a comprehensive peer-review of the Member’s national trade policies. India’s last TPR took place in 2015.
