The LiDAR survey for Delhi-Varanasi High Speed Rail Corridor started on Sunday, 10th January from Greater NOIDA where a Helicopter fitted with state of art Aerial LiDAR and Imagery sensors took the first flight and captured the data related to ground survey.

The Indian Navy will conduct a two-day biennial pan-India coastal defence exercise ‘Sea Vigil-21’ from Tuesday to review its coastal security preparedness. Billed as India’s largest coastal defence exercise, it was first conducted in January 2019.
“Post implementation of Phase-I and Phase-II of the chain of Static Sensors, the Indian coastline will be under the surveillance of 104 radar stations being one of the largest of such network,” the Defence Ministry said in its annual report. The contract with BEL was concluded on January 15, 2020 with a cost of ₹1,814.32 crore.
The novel system has been designed by a team of researchers including Kirtan Gopal Panda, Shrayan Das, Bharat Dwivedi, Aunullah Qaiser and led by professor Debarati Sen, from the G.S. Sanyal School of Telecommunication (a part of IIT-Kharagpur) set up by HCL co-founder Arjun Malhotra.
