Government Announces 23rd January to be Celebrated as ‘PARAKRAM DIWAS’ Every Year

Government of India has decided to celebrate the 125th Birth Anniversary year of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in a befitting manner at national and international level, beginning from 23rd January 2021. A High Level Committee, headed by the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, has been constituted for deciding the programs, and to supervise and guide the commemoration.

Training for Joint Operation in Andaman Sea: Exercise Kavach

The exercise would involve participation and deployment of elements of Army’s Amphibious Brigade along with supporting forces includingSpecial Forces of Navy, Armour/Mechanised components, Naval Ships comprising Destroyers, ASW Corvettes and Landing Ships withship-bornehelicopters of Eastern Naval Command and ANC, Jaguar Maritime Strike and Transport aircrafts from Indian Air Force and assets of Coast Guard.

Nasal COVID-19 Vaccine Could Soon Be A Reality

In a significant development, Bharat Biotech has sought Drug Controller General India’s (DCGI) approval to conduct nasal COVID-19 vaccine trials in India. The company has developed a new single-dose nasal COVID-19 vaccine in a partnership with Washington University in St Louis, USA. There are no intra-nasal COVID-19 vaccines under trial in India at the moment.

India Debuts Largest Nuclear Reactor with More Planned

The 700-megawatt pressurized heavy water reactor of the Kakrapar Atomic Power Station, located in the western state of Gujarat, is the first of 16 planned units that will help balance the grid against growing intermittent renewable generation, according to K.N. Vyas, India’s atomic energy secretary.
