OFB Gets Requests for 2 Lakh Bhabha Kavach from Armed Forces – Make in India

The bullet-proof jacket provides 360 degree protection against 7.62mm hard steel core or bullets fired from an AK-47 rifle, 5.56mm INSAS bullet and even the recently decommissioned 7.65mm bullet of self-loading rifle (SLR). Ballistic trials were conducted by the BSF, CRPF and SSB. After trials, the report was sent to a committee, which then recommended it for induction.

Coastal Surveillance Radar Station to be Set up in Car Nicobar

Defence officials said India is building a network of such radar stations in Indian Ocean region. The coastal surveillance radar is the primary sensor for Integrated Coastal Surveillance System (ICSS). It is capable of detecting sub 20-metre boats such as county boats, dinghies and fishing vessels in heavy sea clutter environment in all weather conditions. The radar is capable of operating 24×7.

Spanish Navy Ship Arrives At Goa’s Mormugao Port

Mendez Nunez, with pennant number F-104, is a multipurpose frigate in service with the Spanish Navy. The ship was commissioned on March 21, 2006 and is based at Naval Base, Ferrol in Spain. The ship has over 200 crew members. The ship is fitted with Harpoon surface to surface missiles, Sea Sparrow surface to air missiles and a 5 inch caliber gun.
