India-Kazakh Joint Military Exercise from August 31

The exercise, named KAZIND 2019, will be held in Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand. Nearly 100 soldiers each from India and Kazakhstan will participate in the event. The exercise will allow both the armies an opportunity to share experiences gained during counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations. The exercise is expected to boost defence co-operation and foster bilateral ties.

India Names Pavan Kapoor as New Ambassador to UAE

The 1990 cadre IFS officer will replace Navdeep Singh Suri, who has been heading the Indian mission in the UAE since October 2016. “Pavan Kapoor, (Indian Foreign Service: 1990) has been appointed as the next Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates,” said Ministry of External Affairs in a statement.

Shaliza Dhami is First Woman Air Force Officer To Become Flight Commander

Wing Commander Dhami, serving for 15 years now, has been flying choppers. She became the first woman flying instructor of the Air Force and is also the first woman officer to get permanent commission of the flying branch. She took charge of a Chetak helipcopter unit at the Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Chetak is a single engine turbo shaft, light utility helicopter with capacity of 6 passengers and has maximum speed of 220 km/hour.

IAF to Receive Balakot Airstrike-Fame Spice-2000 Bombs from Israel by Mid-September

The supply of these weapons from Israel will happen around the time when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is likely to visit India for a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The IAF had signed a contract with Israel in June for acquiring more than 100 Spice 2000 bombs under the emergency procurement powers of the services given by the Narendra Modi government.
