IAF Receives its First ‘Acceptance’ Rafale Combat Aircraft from France

India had signed an inter-governmental agreement with France in September 2016 for procurement of 36 Rafale fighter jets at a cost of around Rs 58,000 crore. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to receive the first of 36 Rafale fighter jets in Paris on October 8 – the foundation day of the Indian Air Force, according to government sources.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Tatas in Fray to Develop Army’s Combat Vehicle – Make in India

Indian Army currently has some 49 Mechanised Infantry Battallions. According to former Major General SB Asthana, the vehicle will be used in all sectors that face a threat, including the crucial northern, western and eastern sectors that are threatened by Pakistan and China. “It will swim crossing water obstacles, move across country and will even operate in the valleys of Sikkim and Ladakh.”

Naval officers said the dock will be dedicated to the Indian naval command and has the capacity to dock the aircraft carrier, INS Vikramaditya, for repair and maintenance, not to speak of nuclear submarines. With a length of 281 metres, width of 45 metres and depth of close to 17 metres—almost equivalent to a five-storey building—the dry dock is nothing short of a construction marvel.
