Royal Dutch Shell has opened the company’s first lubricants laboratory at its technology centre in Bengaluru. The global oil company plans to expand its Research & Development efforts in India.
Shell India will be a solution provider to the increasing demand for advanced lubricants with the rapid upgrade of technology in the automotive & industrial sectors.
As per credible sources, housing 15 technical experts in India, who are expected to work with Indian & global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), the new laboratory will be supported by leading technologies to co-develop & co-engineer products that will help OEMS in improving reliability and efficiency of their equipment.
“The laboratory comes as a solutions provider to the rising demand for innovative lubricants following the rapid upgrade of technology in the industrial and automotive sectors,” Shell India told Business Standard.
Shell has major laboratory facilities in Houston, Hamburg and Shanghai and a partner laboratory in Tokyo. India is the third largest market of lubricants in the world.
