The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research has transferred four domestically developed technologies to Indian companies while commercially launching an affordable IoT-based system for monitoring rural water services.
Three industrial diagnostic technologies developed by CSIR–Central Scientific Instruments Organisation—the Induction Motor Stethoscope, Portable Universal Motor-cum-Pump Performance Monitor and i-Power Quality Analyser—were licensed to Pump Academy Private Limited.
CSIR also transferred an optical module and beam-combiner assembly used in the head-up display of Su-30 aircraft to Bharat Electronics Limited, strengthening indigenous military avionics manufacturing.
Biometry Technologies Private Limited commercially launched the IoT-enabled rural water system, which can monitor water quality, supply quantity and service delivery.
During FY26, CSIR-CSIO received ₹1.67 crore in royalties from BEL for licensed avionics technologies. The transfers are expected to accelerate research commercialisation, expand industry collaboration and support self-reliance in defence, industrial instrumentation and rural infrastructure.
