Marquistech has established India’s first fully equipped laboratory capable of supporting both Global Certification Forum and PTCRB conformance testing, strengthening the country’s infrastructure for mobile, Internet of Things and wireless-device certification.
The Noida-based laboratory has been equipped with advanced testing systems supplied by German technology company Rohde & Schwarz. The facility will allow device manufacturers and module developers to conduct a wider range of certification tests within India before launching products in domestic and international markets.
Comprehensive Wireless Testing Capability
The laboratory includes the R&S TS8980FTA-3A RF and Radio Resource Management full type-approval system, the CMX500 radio communication tester for protocol-conformance testing and the R&S TS-LBS system for location-based service evaluation.
Rohde & Schwarz has also supplied the R&S TS9982 and R&S TS9975 systems for electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic compatibility testing.
Together, these platforms allow the facility to examine whether smartphones, communication modules, IoT products and other wireless devices comply with technical, performance and safety requirements.
The systems support established 4G technologies along with advanced 5G capabilities, including non-terrestrial networks and mission-critical communications.
What GCF and PTCRB Certification Means
The Global Certification Forum and PTCRB operate certification programmes that help verify whether mobile devices and wireless products meet recognised network and interoperability standards.
Certification testing examines areas such as radio performance, signalling, protocol behaviour, network compatibility and location-based services. Successful testing helps manufacturers demonstrate that their devices can operate reliably across supported networks.
Marquistech’s expanded facility is expected to provide certification support during product development as well as before commercial market entry.
Faster Certification for Indian Manufacturers
Indian device manufacturers have traditionally depended on overseas laboratories or multiple external testing providers for some advanced certification requirements.
The new Noida facility can reduce this dependence by bringing conformance, electromagnetic compatibility and interference testing together at one location.
A locally available laboratory can shorten certification timelines, lower logistics costs and help engineering teams resolve technical issues more quickly. Manufacturers can also test products during development, identify failures and make design changes before beginning a formal certification campaign.
This capability could be particularly valuable for companies manufacturing smartphones, IoT devices, communication modules, connected industrial equipment and other wireless products in India.
Supporting Export-Oriented Electronics Manufacturing
India is expanding its role as a manufacturing and export centre for electronics and telecommunications equipment. Global certification infrastructure will be important as Indian factories produce devices intended for customers and network operators in multiple countries.
A domestic conformance-testing ecosystem can support the complete product-development cycle, from early engineering validation to final regulatory and market certification.
The facility’s location in Noida places it within the Delhi National Capital Region, a major centre for telecommunications, electronics manufacturing, engineering services and technology companies.
Expanded Role for Marquistech
Marquistech has previously operated as a GCF field-testing Recognised Test Organisation. The expansion of its Noida site extends the company’s services into full conformance testing.
Prashant Jain, Vice-President of Marquistech, said the company aims to create a globally competitive certification hub offering quality, flexibility and faster market access.
The laboratory will serve companies seeking certification support for mobile devices, connected products and wireless modules before commercial deployment.
Local Technical Support from Rohde & Schwarz
Rohde & Schwarz’s local engineering presence played an important role in the partnership.
The company operates a major development centre near the laboratory, supported by testing facilities, application specialists and engineering teams covering different stages of the wireless-product lifecycle.
This local support structure can assist with system maintenance, test implementation, software updates and the adoption of future wireless standards.
Strengthening India’s Telecom Testing Ecosystem
The establishment of the laboratory expands India’s domestic capability in advanced telecommunications testing and certification.
As 5G networks evolve and new technologies such as satellite-linked non-terrestrial communication, private networks and mission-critical services gain importance, manufacturers will require access to increasingly sophisticated test infrastructure.
Marquistech’s new facility provides India with a locally available platform for evaluating these technologies while supporting faster product development and export readiness.
The project represents an important step towards building a complete wireless manufacturing, testing and certification ecosystem within the country.
