India’s fresh fruit exports have also increased significantly. Fresh grapes are the most commonly exported item in the fresh food category. Fresh Grapes had a US$ 314 million export value in 2020-21. Other Fresh Fruits exports totalled US$ 302 million, Fresh Mangoes exports totalled US$ 36 million, and Others (Betel Leaves & Nuts) exports totalled US$ 19 million. Fresh grapes and other fresh fruits accounted for 92% of India’s total fresh fruit exports in 2020-21.
It’s worth noting that dairy exports have increased at a CAGR of 10.5% over the last five years. India exported US$ 181.75 million worth of dairy products in the fiscal year 2021-22 (April-November), and the current fiscal year is expected to surpass the previous year’s export value. Curd (yoghurt) and paneer (Indian cottage cheese) exports have increased by 200% from US$ 10 million in April to January 2013-14 to US$ 30 million in April to January 2021-22.
