Indian Security Forces Beef Up Operation Against Terrorist Groups

The joint operation teams of the Indian security forces have beefed up their search operation against terrorist outfits and have been successful in apprehending many cadres and linkmen of the terrorist outfits in recent times. CRPF arrested one Bhutan Mech (28) from the Assam-Nagaland border area near Halwating of Sivasagar district on Saturday night. One revolver with three rounds live bullets were recovered from his possession. Security forces also nabbed Nekib Ahmed (23) from South Sonari of Charaideo district on Saturday night following secret input. Nekib was allegedly an active linkman of the banned ULFA (I) and he sent several youths from Charaideo district to join the outfit. Many objectionable documents were reportedly recovered from his possession. He also allegedly operated many fake Facebook accounts and through these accounts he used to lure youths to join the outfit.

In another incident that took place few days ago in the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border area, one hardcore terrorist was arrested by joint security forces. Mukunda Nath (29) of Sivasagar Bokota Nemoguri village was also allegedly involved in the sensational Demow bomb blast incident that had taken place in the Demow daily market area near the NH-37 on November 22. Demow Police have taken the accused under judicial custody for more interrogation regarding the bomb blast with permission from the Sivasagar CJM court, sources added.

Besides, as many as three youths were held from the Assam-Arunachal border area and the detained youths are suspected ULFA (I) and NSCN linkmen. Suspected members and linkmen of the ULFA (I) and the NSCN are active in the Bimalapur, Kanubari and Balijan areas of Charaideo district and security forces launched special operations in these areas the past week.

Moreover, in the Dikhowmukh, Saraguri, and the Brahmaputra-Dikhow Sapori area and in the Saragua area of Sivasagar district, a team of the Indian Army, CRPF and the Assam Police jointly launched another search operation against a troop of suspected ULFA (I) militants on Saturday night. Sources informed that a large troop of militants were taking shelter in these areas.
Security forces also arrested one RB Lama (47) from the Jagun area of the Assam-Arunachal border on January 9 night and a large cache of arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the accused. As per reports, one American pistol, three Chinese grenades, 15 rounds live bullets, some cash and other objectionable documents were also recovered from him.

Indian forces also informed that the NSCN and the ULFA (I) were setting up many new transit camps in the Arunachal Pradesh territory and apart from the existing Nagaland camps, the terrorists have chosen Arunachal Pradesh for their safe shelter in recent times
