Gross Goods and Service Tax (GST) collection in November was recorded at Rs. 1,31,526 crores (US$ 17.5 billion), the second-highest collection in India’s tax collection history; November is the second consecutive month to cross the Rs. 1.30 lakh crore (US$ 17.2 billion) benchmark.
CGST collection was recorded at Rs. 23,978 crores (US$ 3.2 billion), SGST component accounted to Rs. 31,127 crores (US$ 4.1 billion), and IGST was recorded at Rs. 66,815 crores (US$ 8.9 billion). November 2021 revenue was 25% more than the revenue recorded during the same period last year.
According to the government of India, collections are entirely aligned with the latest trends in economic recovery. The highest GST collection was recorded in April 2021, since the initiation of an imperative tax regime in India.
