Kathmandu, Mar 17 (PTI) Newly-appointed Ambassador of India to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra on Tuesday met Nepal Army chief General Purna Chandra Thapa during which the two leaders discussed matters relating to bilateral interest and mutual cooperation, officials said.
Kwatra, who is the 25th Indian envoy to the Himalayan nation, presented his credentials to Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari on March 5 at a special ceremony held at Rastrapati Bhawan.
According to Nepal Army officials, the Indian envoy met Thapa at the Army Headquarters here.
During the meeting, matters relating to bilateral interest and mutual cooperation mainly figured, they said.
Kwatra succeeded Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri, who completed his three-year tenure in December 2019
