Two women Indian Army captains are being hailed as heroes online for helping a woman deliver her premature baby. Captain Lalitha and Captain Amandeep of 172 Military Hospital were recently travelling on the Howrah Express, when a co-passenger immediately needed assistance for her delivery.
The two brave officers facilitated in the premature delivery of the passenger and made sure that both the mother and her baby were healthy.
The incredible news was shared on Twitter by the official account of Additional Directorate General of Public Information, Indian Army.

They tweeted the picture of the two women officers and wrote, “Captain Lalitha & Captain Amandeep, #IndianArmy 172 Military Hospital, facilitated in premature delivery of a passenger while traveling on Howrah Express. Both mother & baby are healthy & hearty. #NationFirst #WeCare.”
After the post was shared online, Twitter was filled with heartfelt comments by netizens feeling proud of the two women. One User wrote, “Bravo Captains. You are perfect blend and example of strength and kindness. Our Army always comes as savior at all times and situations.” Another user wrote, “A soldier is never off duty, so true! #WomenInArmy.”
