The development has been disclosed in BDL’s newly released Annual Report for 2025–26, published in September 2026. The state-owned missile manufacturer lists the ASRAAM Final Assembly, Integration and Testing, or FAIT, facility among major infrastructure expansions that have become fully operational.
N3X Labs founder Shrrinath Navghane disclosed the development from Gandhinagar, Gujarat, where the scaled WRATH prototype was undergoing testing. He confirmed that the demonstrator was subsequently destroyed during the test activity, indicating that the company is using experimental hardware as part of the development process.
DRDO says the suite was jointly developed by CASDIC in Bengaluru and the Defence Electronics Research Laboratory (DLRL) in Hyderabad. It combines an indigenous Radar Warning Receiver with the pod-mounted ASPJ.

The patent covers the alignment and synchronisation of optical and microwave sensors so that both datasets can be collected over the same area during the same pass. GalaxEye says the technology has already been patented in India and that it is the first Indian startup to secure a US patent specifically for satellite imaging technology.
The company unveiled its OISL capability at Bengaluru Space Expo 2026 on September 8 and is targeting flight readiness in 2027. Astrogate describes the programme as India’s first indigenous development of an optical inter-satellite terminal.
The concept is aimed at Suppression of Enemy Air Defences, or SEAD, missions, where expendable drones can be used to complicate an adversary’s radar picture, draw attention away from manned aircraft and potentially force air-defence units to reveal their positions.
HAL provided the clearest official update on the programme during its investor interaction on May 15, 2026. Asked whether HTT-40 deliveries would begin in FY2026-27 or FY2027-28, company management replied that deliveries would start in FY2026-27.
