Radiance InfraCo Renewables has commissioned its 87 MWp Korwar solar power project in Karnataka, adding fresh clean energy capacity to India’s renewable power sector. The project has been developed by Radiance InfraCo Renewables, a joint venture between Radiance Renewables and PIDG, the Private Infrastructure Development Group.
The Korwar solar plant is the second project developed under the joint venture and has begun operations ahead of the monsoon season. Its timely commissioning reflects strong execution capability, coordinated project management and the growing maturity of India’s private renewable energy development ecosystem.
The project is expected to contribute clean electricity to India’s power mix and support the country’s wider energy transition goals. As India continues to expand solar capacity across states, projects such as Korwar play an important role in reducing dependence on conventional energy sources and supporting industrial decarbonisation.
A key feature of the project is its commercial structure. The companies have highlighted the role of long-term private offtake agreements in supporting renewable energy investment. Such agreements are helping expand the sector beyond traditional government-backed independent power producer models, giving private businesses a stronger pathway to access clean power while supporting fresh capital flows into solar infrastructure.
Following the commissioning, PIDG’s Asset Management team met Radiance Renewables leadership in Mumbai, including CEO Nitin Bhatia, before visiting the Korwar site to review plant operations. The visit underlined the importance of operational oversight, long-term asset performance and partnership-based growth in India’s renewable energy market.
The joint venture is also linking clean energy development with community impact. In Tamil Nadu, Radiance InfraCo Renewables and PIDG are supporting training programmes for women at the site of a 21.3 MWp solar plant. These programmes cover solar repair, digital literacy, financial skills and entrepreneurship, helping women gain practical skills connected to the clean energy economy.
The social initiatives reflect a wider shift in the renewable energy sector, where project developers are increasingly focusing on local participation, livelihood creation and community development alongside power generation. By combining solar infrastructure with skills training, the partnership is creating value beyond electricity production.
The commissioning of the Korwar solar plant strengthens Radiance InfraCo Renewables’ presence in India’s clean energy sector and adds momentum to private-sector participation in renewable power. With growing demand for low-carbon electricity from businesses and industries, such projects are expected to play a larger role in India’s journey towards a cleaner and more resilient energy future.
The companies have indicated that they look forward to further collaboration and continued expansion of clean energy and community development initiatives across India.
