FASTag Annual Pass Crosses One Crore Milestone Across National Highways

India’s FASTag Annual Pass has crossed the one crore mark, reflecting strong adoption among private vehicle owners travelling on National Highways and Expressways.

The annual pass was launched on August 15, 2025, and has since emerged as a convenient option for frequent highway users by offering a fixed-fee alternative to repeated toll payments.

One Crore FASTag Annual Passes Issued

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said the FASTag Annual Pass has now crossed one crore passes issued.

The milestone highlights growing acceptance of the scheme among non-commercial vehicle owners who regularly use National Highways and National Expressways.

The pass is designed to simplify toll payments while reducing the need for frequent FASTag recharges.

Annual Pass Covers Around 1,150 Toll Plazas

The FASTag Annual Pass is currently applicable at around 1,150 fee plazas across National Highways and National Expressways.

Eligible users can activate the pass by paying a one-time fee of ₹3,075.

The pass remains valid for one year or up to 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever limit is reached first.

Existing FASTag Can Be Used

Vehicle owners do not need to purchase a separate FASTag to use the annual pass.

The facility is activated on the existing valid FASTag linked to the vehicle after payment through the Rajmargyatra App.

The scheme is available for non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag, making it easier for private motorists to shift to the annual payment model without changing their existing toll account.

Designed for Frequent Highway Users

The FASTag Annual Pass is particularly suited to private vehicle owners who make regular journeys on National Highways and Expressways.

By replacing repeated toll deductions with a fixed annual payment, the system offers greater predictability for motorists while simplifying toll management.

The structure also reduces the inconvenience associated with frequent FASTag balance checks and recharges.

FASTag has become the backbone of electronic toll collection across India’s highway network, enabling faster toll transactions and reducing dependence on cash payments.

The Annual Pass adds another layer to the system by introducing a subscription-style option for regular highway users.
