Apollo Micro Systems Launches ShauryAstra to Develop Indigenous Long-Range Weapons and Unmanned Combat Platforms

The significance of ShauryAstra lies primarily in its technological mandate. Apollo says the new company has been created specifically to undertake the research, design and development of complete weapon systems, long-range systems, unmanned platforms and allied defence technologies for the Indian Armed Forces. Its focus will include operational problems for which mature indigenous solutions are not yet available, as well as future battlefield requirements that may emerge over the coming years.

UPI Completes a Decade as India’s Digital Payment System Scales to 24,162 Crore Annual Transactions

The expansion represents an almost 13,000-fold increase in annual transaction volume over the decade. Transaction value has grown just as dramatically, rising from about ₹0.07 lakh crore in FY 2016-17 to approximately ₹314 lakh crore in FY 2025-26, an increase of more than 4,000 times. The figures show how UPI has evolved from an emerging payment option into a system used for everyday retail purchases, personal money transfers and increasingly higher-value transactions.
