DRAL to Start Falcon 2000 Fuselage Assembly in August – Make in India

DRAL, which has started operations at Nagpur over a year ago, began with smaller components like fuel tank and cockpit assemblies. It will be shifting to a larger unit within its plot in Mihan. The unit is expected to be ready soon and production of the fuselage assemblies is planned to start in August. This will be a major step towards a larger plan of finally flying an entire Falcon 2000 from the Mihan unit by 2022.

The 1,250-tonne cryostat base, the first two sections of which have been constructed by conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T), is India’s largest single procurement contribution to the ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) facility that spans over 42 hectares in Saint-Paul-les-Durance, some 35 km north of Aix-en-Provence in south of France.
