Why International Flights from India Take Off at Insane Hours

There are a handful of countries such as the US, Switzerland and Germany and some airports in Australia, that follow a night curfew — these airports are shut down for commercial operations between 11 pm and 5 am. These countries have been following night curfews since the 1960s, when aircraft engines were very noisy, and, according to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the curfew was primarily a result of local protests about noise pollution at night.

Since 2018 Bombardier’s proven CITYFLO 650 CBTC solution has been operating on Delhi’s 58.5-km Line 7, or Pink Line, which now handles an average daily ridership of over 200,000 passengers. Line 9’s opening brings the total of CITYFLO 650-equipped track in India to more than 60 km with a further 1.2 km stretch planned to open in 2020, also to be equipped with the technology.

6,000 Railway Stations to be Wi-fi Enabled in 2-3 Months: Piyush Goyal

Goyal, who is also the trade and commerce minister, said the national transporter is installing CCTV cameras at railway stations to create a safe environment for passengers. “More than 5,000 stations have Wi-Fi facility. In the next two to three months, 6,500 stations will have Wi-Fi connectivity and with that the economically weak, children and women will be connected with the rest of the world,” Goyal said.
