As part of the expansion, the company will enhance its Tata Global Network (TGN) by integrating the MIST Cable System between Mumbai and Singapore. The project will add 20 Tbps of network capacity through an investment of ₹594.47 crore (US$63 million).

The achievement comes nearly a decade after AGEL commissioned its first renewable energy project at Kamuthi, Tamil Nadu, in 2016. During FY26, the company added 5,051 MW of renewable energy capacity, marking one of the largest annual additions by any renewable energy company outside China.

The framework will be uniformly applicable across projects being implemented under various modes of construction, thereby creating a consistent quality assurance mechanism across different project delivery formats.

The facility has been established as a technology demonstrator to validate the production of hydrogen using nuclear energy through the Cu–Cl thermochemical process developed indigenously by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai. The successful integration of nuclear process heat with hydrogen generation marks a pioneering technological breakthrough and opens a promising pathway for large-scale, carbon-free hydrogen production using advanced nuclear reactors.

Following this achievement, India is now preparing to scale up the fast breeder programme through two additional units at the same nuclear complex. The Kalpakkam site already has deep nuclear infrastructure, technical manpower, research support and operational experience, making it a natural location for the next phase of breeder reactor development.

The new crane is a diesel-electric hybrid all-terrain machine capable of operating on both electric and diesel power. Its introduction at the Debari smelter is significant because cranes of this capacity are normally associated with high diesel consumption due to the heavy lifting requirements of industrial sites. By shifting a large part of such operations to electric power, Hindustan Zinc is reducing fuel dependence while improving the environmental profile of its smelting operations.

Among the key notifications is the Telecommunications (Authorisation for Provision of Main Telecommunication Services) Rules, 2025. These rules create a new framework under which telecom entities can apply for authorisation to provide services as a network service operator, a virtual network operator, or both. Existing Unified Licence, UASL, ISP, NLD and ILD licensees will also be able to migrate to the new system.

The Korwar solar plant is the second project developed under the joint venture and has begun operations ahead of the monsoon season. Its timely commissioning reflects strong execution capability, coordinated project management and the growing maturity of India’s private renewable energy development ecosystem.

The biggest highlight of the event was the release of VOC Port’s first Sustainability Report, which recorded major progress in the port’s decarbonisation journey. Renewable energy now offsets nearly 94% of the port’s energy-consumption equivalent, while net carbon emissions have been reduced by around 45%. The report also noted that carbon intensity per tonne of cargo has nearly halved over the past four years, positioning VOC Port as a leading institution in India’s green maritime transition.
