How A Four-Minister MEA Could Amplify India’s Diplomatic Power

India has Improved its Score in Ease of Cross-Border Trade: UN

India has made noticeable progress in ease of cross-border trade, a UN survey, which tracked 143 economies on key trade facilitation parameters over a two-year period, said. According to the latest UN Global Survey on Digital and Sustainable Trade Facilitation, India’s rank moved up from 78.49% in 2019 to 90.32% in 2021. The biannual survey deals exclusively with trade facilitation measures taken up by countries.

Progress in Doubling Farmer Income

In case of production the farmers have been registering higher productivity across all segments of Agriculture. There has been record growth in total output of food grains, oilseeds, horticulture, milk and so on. The annual production under various sectors has increased appreciably as seen at the end of the year 2020-21. These include a food grains output of 303.34 MTs as against 252.23 MTs(2015-16); 326.58 MTs of fruits & vegetables as against 259.3 MTs (2015-16); 208 MTs of milk as against 155.49 MTs (2015-16).

One District One Focus Product Scheme

The One District One Focus Product (ODOFP) programme cover products of agriculture and allied sectors for 728 districts of the country. The Government has decided to converge resources from ongoing centrally sponsored schemes such as Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), National Food Security Mission (NFSM), Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY), schemes of Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying for ODOFP.

The Ministry of Culture has taken up the task of digitisation of collections of ten (10) museums under its domain through Jatan programme since April 2014, even before the onset of Covid-19. Besides this, the Ministry also operates a scheme namely ‘Museum Grant Scheme’ under which financial assistance is provided to State Governments, Societies, Autonomous Bodies, Local Bodies and Trusts registered under the Societies Act for digitisation of art objects in the museums across the country for making their images/catalogue available over the website for online access.

Government to Set Up A World-Class ‘Indian Institute of Heritage’ at Noida to focus on Conservation and Research in India’s Rich Tangible Heritage

The government has decided to set up the ‘Indian Institute of Heritage’ at Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar. This will impact higher education and research in the field related to rich Indian heritage and its conservation leading to Masters and Ph.D courses in History of Arts, Conservation, Museology, Archival Studies, Archaeology, Preventive Conservation, Epigraphy and Numismatics, Manuscriptology etc. as well as conservation training facilities to in-service employees and the students of the Indian Institute of Heritage.

Registration Process for Vintage Motor Vehicles Formalized

Ministerof Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari has saidwith an aim to preserve and promote the heritage of vintage vehicles, the registration process of Vintage Motor Vehicles has been formalized.In a tweet he said with no existing rules for regulating the process of registration across different states, the new rules shall provide a hassle-free process along with salient features such as retention of old number for already registered vehicles and a “VA” series (Unique Registration Mark) for fresh registrations.
