Indian Air Force In Final Stages Of Finalising Tender For 114 Fighter Jets; 85 Per Cent Aircraft To Be Made In India

In April 2018, the IAF had issued the Request For Information (RFI) which detailed the proposal to buy 114 fighter aircraft. As per the requirements, 85 per cent of the aircraft would need to be manufactured indigenously under the ‘Make in India’ programme, with a domestic firm playing the role of a ‘Strategic Partner/Indian Production Agency.’

First Secure Link Between India, US Navies Set Up

HAL Manufactures 41 Aircraft, Helicopters In Fiscal 2018-19

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has manufactured 41 new aircraft, helicopters besides 98 new engines during fiscal 2018-19, according to a financial update issued by the company.
In addition, HAL has carried out overhaul of 213 aircraft, helicopters and 540 engines. HAL’s R&D projects are on track for the requirement of the Indian armed forces.
