Speaking to ANI, one of the pilgrims said, “It is not easy for someone to come forward to help, risking their lives at stake. We are really thankful to ITBP personnel who have been helping us on routes.”

The Indian delegation, led by BSF Second-in-Command (2IC) Arun Kumar Verma, will first arrive at BGB’s Pilkhana headquarters in Dhaka from Benapole. After a brief stopover in Dhaka, the BSF team will head for the BGB Training Centre and School at Baitul Izzat in Satkania upazila of Chittagong.

Outlining her 2019-2020 budget, Indian financial minister Nirmala Sitharaman ended customs duties against defense imports. That means U.S. and other defense exporters are now more competitive in offering goods to India’s military. Sitharaman made clear her decision isn’t flippant: “Defense has an immediate requirement of modernization … This is a national priority.”

Bharat Forge, part of the Kalyani Group – A $3 billion conglomerate with 10,000 global work force — is manufacturing the ATAGS, the first indigenously built 155 mm/52-calibre towed gun and one of the few in the world that has the six-round automated magazine that fires in 30 seconds.

The event will witness participation of mechanised infantry scouts teams of eight countries including China, Belarus, Zimbabwe, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia and host India. Russia is the founding member of this format of international army games.
For the first time, China will take part in the event.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh, army chief and several VIPs are expected to attend the meet.

Major General Sanjeev Sengar will serve in this role for the next four years, and his team managing the factory will also have other serving officers of the Indian Army in it. It may be possible for this new way of managing defence manufacturing units to be expanded further in the future if the maiden experiment proves to be a success

The recommendations for restructuring were made by the army for turning itself into an agile, lethal and capability-based force to tackle the challenges of future warfare. Restructuring is part of transformation plans of Army chief Gen Bipin Rawat for the reorganisation of the amy headquarters which would result in saving of 20 per cent officers posted in Delhi who would now be posted to field fighting formations along the borders.

The training included the planning and implementation of a number of high-profile training activities including training to enhance maritime security, the protection of maritime lines of communication procedures, and management of business offensive and defensive combat while conducting a variety of exercises using helicopters to strengthen the work of fighting marine formations.
