Indian Army Plans to Use AI to Take the Fight to the Next Level

Work on developing AI technologies started after the National AI Taskforce recommended that the three defence services work on 10 AI projects. The projects focus on imagery, text, speech and predictive analysis.
The army also plans to use AI technology that can predict, for instance, when a tank would require its next servicing, its remaining life and potential failures.

Indian Army Deploys US-, Italy-Trained Snipers with Deadly New Rifles Along LoC

Elite units deployed along the LoC have been given the new .338 Lapua Magnum Scorpio TGT rifle by Beretta and the .50 calibre M95 rifle by Barrett.Specials units, along with some regular soldiers from the LoC battalions, have been trained by experts from abroad on the use of these weapons and the different kinds of ammunition to be used based on operational requirements.

GSL Launches 2nd Indigenous Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Vessel

The ongoing shipbuilding project for 05 Offshore Patrol Vessels is one of the biggest orders being executed by GSL for the Indian Coast Guard. This indigenous Project was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 13 Nov 2016. It is creditable for the shipyard to complete the 100% hull construction and bring the vessel in advanced stage of outfitting for delivery in Jun 2020.

IAF All-Woman Crew Flies Mi-17 Chopper for First Time

The crew, comprising Flight Lieutenant Parul Bhardwaj (Captain), Flying Officer Aman Nidhi (co-pilot) and Flight Lieutenant Hina Jaiswal (flight engineer), flew a Mi-17 V5 helicopter for a Battle Inoculation Training Mission, taking off and landing from restricted areas at a forward air base in the South Western Air Command.

Trials of Advanced Artillery Gun Begin in Pokhran Range

The Indian Army has begun finalising the preliminary specifications qualitative requirements (PSQR). Defence Research & Defence Organisation (DRDO) and senior army officers were present at the trials. The gun during its last trials had fired 47.2 kms long distance which was world’s longest distance.

Aircraft complex enables to use the full scope of air weapons, both already existing and future, of Russian or foreign origin, including the ones designed for heavy fighters.
