To mark the deep-rooted friendly ties and multi-faceted and growing co-operation between India and Qatar, Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Samudra Paheredar will be visiting Hamad Port from today until Monday, in conjunction with the celebrations of India’s 71st Republic Day on Sunday.
A total of 644 militants of eight banned insurgent outfits surrendered in Assam on Thursday along with 177 arms, police said.
The members of the insurgent groups — ULFA (I), NDFB, RNLF, KLO, CPI (Maoist), NSLA, ADF and NLFB — surrendered in presence of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at a programme here.
Officials explained that some of the reasons behind changes proposed for the uniforms are for comfort, security from being identified by the adversary and durability. “Talks on the issue have been ongoing. The suggested changes are being examined,” said an official.
The price for the 200 copters would be around $4 billion (Rs 28,000 crore approximately), sources said. This would also include transfer of 50% technology, including structure of the copter, its blades and landing gear, all important for metallurgy and transfer of technology.
The new 11 roads, known as India-China Border Roads (ICBRs), that the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) plans to complete by March will be located along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh. The BRO also plans to complete about nine more such roads by March 2021. It has set a target to complete the 61 of the 73 ICBRs assigned to it in three years.

The FMS is expected to double the engine production capacity of the plant to 750.
Indian Navy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Geological Survey of India (GSI) for ‘Sharing of seabed sediments data, products and expertise for Naval Application in Meteorology and Oceanography’.
