India’s Advanced Towed Artillery Gun Achieves Milestone with Record Firing

India’s domestically produced advanced towed artillery gun system (ATAGS) has achieved yet another breakthrough, successfully firing five rounds in 62 seconds. The 155 mm x 52 calibre ATAGS achieved the milestone during evaluation trials at a firing range in the Pokharan region of India’s Rajasthan state. It offered the key parameters for the howitzer to pass the evaluation trials.

Army Chief General Bipin Rawat named India’s First Chief of Defence Staff

General Bipin Rawat, currently the Chief of Army Staff, has been named as India’s first Chief of Defence Staff a day before he was to retire from service, General Rawat is the first officer to hold the post of the Chief of Defence Staff, which was set up just days ago. Rajnath Singh Launches Dashboard of Department of Defence

A press release from the Defence Ministry said, “The internal Dashboard will be used for effective monitoring of budget expenditure, redressal of public grievances and clearance of public projects on defence land.”
“During the review of the Dashboard, the Defence Minister directed senior officials of the Ministry to devise mechanisms so that public grievances may be disposed off on priority,” the press release said

DRDO Reveals 350 Kilometer XRSAM Missile Details

The DRDO’s website stated that XRSAM-IAF is being developed for the Indian Air Force (IAF) as part of Missiles and Strategic Systems (MSS), and added that it will play a vital role in the missile defence system of the country. DRDO said that the XRSAM air missile weapon system will also be able to engage stealth fighters and ballistic missile in the terminal stage.
