State-owned aerospace giant HAL and CSIR-NAL (National Aero Space Laboratories) on Friday inked a pact for design, development, production and maintenance of SARAS MK II aircraft, which is intended to be sold to Indian defence services, civil aviation sector and export customers.

Specially appointed monitors have finally ‘cleared’ the two weapon systems– the Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORAD) and the Self Propelled Air Defence Gun Missile System (SPADGMS)– and they can be placed before the DAC headed by defence minister Rajnath Singh and including chief of defence staff General Bipin Rawat and the three service chiefs.

The government has allowed Indo-Tibetan Border Police to create 47 additional border outposts and 12 ‘staging camps’ to step up vigil along the border with China, officials familiar with the development told ET. The tool was developed by INNEFU Labs, an Indian startup that works on artificial intelligence tools, and built the machine learning infrastructure that is deployed by the Delhi Police.

According to a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Indian Army’s Infantry Directorate on Mar. 6, the loiter munitions are being sought for use by infantry men to execute “pinpoint strikes with legal munition” after performing “surveillance tasks by day and night” using a man-portable platform.

The government is working on a new cyber security policy that would address all the issues related to Cyber ecosystem like standardization, testing, auditing and capacity building. This was revealed by Lt. Gen. (Dr) Rajesh Pant, National Cyber Security Coordinator, Prime Minister’s Office, Government of India.

In a reply to a question about the scale of production of the Bullet Proof Jackets in the country and the countries to which these jackets were being exported, Rajnath Singh said, “Bullet Proof Jackets are also being exported to 18 countries. In view of the strategic requirement, the names of the countries are not disclosed.”
