India on Monday successfully test-fired the updated version of supersonic cruise missile ‘BrahMos’ from Chandipur’s ITR 5 launchpad.The supersonic cruise missile is capable of hitting targets at more than 400-km range.
With an aim to impart quality education among children of the Gujjar and Bakarwal community, the Army has started three schools in the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district. Children of the community suffer severely from lack of education infrastructure while ‘deras’ migrate to their summer abodes, an official spokesman said. The community heads approached the Army seeking assistance for education of children, he said.

An Indian warship was part of a range of naval drills with the Spanish Navy near strategically important Cape Trafalgar, officials said on Friday. The assets deployed by the Spanish Navy for the maritime partnership exercise included a Cessna maritime patrol aircraft and a Sea King (SH-3D) helicopter, they said.
HAL said six Nigerian Army officers were formally inducted into HAL’s Rotary Wing Academy on 5 July after a contract between HAL and the Nigerian Army was signed for phase one flying training.

This web-based system processes pension claims and credits pension directly into the bank accounts of defence pensioners without relying on any external intermediary. A Pensioner Portal is available for pensioners to view their pension related information, access services and register complaints for redressal of grievances, if any, relating to their pension matters.
