New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), the country’s largest power equipment manufacturer, today announced it has won an order for supply of electric buses along with charging infrastructure in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The order was placed on BHEL by Urban Transport Directorate (UTD) in Lucknow. “These low floor, disabled-friendly electric buses will be deployed by UTD at the Gorakhpur airport,” the company said in a statement.
BHEL said the project is in line with the company’s transformation initiative of expanding into new markets and businesses. Further, as part of this transformation journey, BHEL is consolidating and reinvigorating the initiatives taken in defence and aerospace, water, e-mobility, batteries, renewables and transportation businesses
