US, India and Five Other Nations Talk Post-Covid Trade

The United States reached out to India and five other countries on Monday to kickstart a discussion on how to move the global economy forward in the wake of Covid-19 and to find ways to cut dependence on China. Israel, Brazil, Australia, Japan and South Korea were part of the videoconference and certain other like-minded countries may join the discussion at a later stage, according to people aware of the matter. Many of these countries share close trade and commercial links with China.

When asked if he was looking to cut manpower costs as mounting salaries and pensions were taking away a large chunk of the budget, General Rawat said: “I am looking at manpower costs. Why should a jawan serve for just 15 or 17 years, why cannot he serve for 30 years? We are losing trained manpower.”

Indian Researchers Make A Novel Tool to Help Gain Deeper Insight into Parkinson’s Disease

Recently, scientists from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology,Kolkata, teamed up to find a solution to this issue. The leader of the IIT (ISM) team Dr. Umakanta Tripathy, who is a physicist, studies nonlinear behaviour of biomaterials using Z-scan technique, a machine that he himself built at his home institute. Dr. Krishnananda Chattopadhyay of CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, on the other hand, is a biophysicist who has been working to understand ASyn aggregation and its implications in Parkinson’s disease.

Made in India Weaponized UAV for Warfare

Where most companies are focused on making UAVs with cameras for surveillance, this Made in India UAV called Vero is remotely piloted, equipped with two 38mm grenades that are capable of being remotely fired mid-air. The UAV has two cameras that allow for the operator to conduct surveillance and locate the target. It can function in below zero degree to positive forty degrees. The UAV is designed to be used in extreme and high-altitude conditions.
