First lot of Sharang Gun system was successfully accomplished all the technical parameters in a rigorous proof firing at Long Proof Range (LPR) Khamaria. Sharang Guns are being simultaneously developed at Gun Carriage Factory and Vehicle Factory Jabalpur. It is the first time when any indigenised gun system was given green signal for bulk production within a record time due to indigenisation and proof trials of guns in the same city.
Amid the charged atmosphere along the border, the Indian Army is looking forward to the infantry combat vehicles (ICVs) manufactured at the Ordnance Factory Medak (OFM) in Telangana.
The OFM will start supplying 156 upgraded ICVs to the Army from next financial year with work at the factory going on at a frenetic pace. The ICVs are different from main battle tanks (MBTs), in role and onboard weapons. These vehicles can be deployed as light tanks, command or recon vehicles, weapons carrier or an ambulance.
Afghanistan’s new envoy to India Farid Mamundzay has called the nation a “generous neighbour who has stood with us in difficult times and have shared their bread with us”. Farid who was earlier the senior political advisor at the Afghan National Security Council tweeted on his appointment, “I am honoured & humbled to have been designated as the new Afghan ambassador to India, a traditional and historic friend of Afghanistan.”
The Maldives Police Service(MPS) executed the project through a cash grant assistance of MVR 8 million from India. This project is part of the 29 grant projects covering different facets of Maldives-India cooperation that are being implemented across the Atolls with a total Indian grant assistance of about MVR 200 million i.e $ 12.6 million.

The Jal Jeevan Mission implemented by Ministry of Jal Shakti in partnership with States aims to provide adequate drinking water of prescribed quality on regular and long-term basis to every rural household in the country by 2024. In a bid to provide adequate drinking water to all rural households in the State, the Centre has allocated Rs 1,280 Crore for the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Madhya Pradesh in 2020-21.

A team of researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIT Guwahati), in collaboration with scientists from the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic, is working towards developing indigenous algorithms that can protect the Nation’s digital data from cyber-attacks by advanced computers. The team has also designed encryption architectures that can be used to protect sensitive health data that is transmitted through the internet.
