Jan 21, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy in compliance with naval customs ceremonially welcomed the Indian Navy Ship (INS) Airavat arrived at the Port of Colombo on Monday (20 January) on a training visit.
The Commanding Officer of the ship, Commander Sunil Sankar and a group of Indian officers met the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe at the Western Naval Command Headquarters. They held a cordial discussion on several matters of bilateral importance.
During their stay in the country, the crew of the ship is expected to take part in several programs. INS Airavat is scheduled to leave the island on 22nd January.
